First Blog ( bear with me)!

We finally got around to setting up a Blog to keep family and friends updated with our travels.  It only took us two years, but that's what retirement is all about.... "I'll get around to it!"  We had good times attending the RV Dreams rallies in Myrtle Beach and Hershey and learned a lot from Howard and Linda's website, (RV-Dreams.com)...  hopefully we've put their experiences into practice. 
 

Our camping experiences together started when we were stationed in Nevada.   We would camp and fish in the central Nevada mountains with just a bedroll beneath the expansive desert skies.   Later when the kids were growing we bought a VW Westphalia pop-top camper.  We have wonderful memories (some good,..some not so much :)) of camping across the country in the VW.  Several years ago when thinking about retirement, we rekindled the camping idea.  We went to the RV-Dreams rally in Myrtle Beach and warmed to the possibilities of the RV traveling/living lifestyle.  We met many wonderful couples there who were great fun to be around and projected a similar active/fun/positive  lifestyle to one that we enjoyed while in the military.  The idea really kicked in when we saw a used HitchHiker fifth wheel on the lot of a local RV Dealer.  The possibilities turned into an action plan ....and here we are!

We are "part-time full timers" traveling about 6 months a year.  We had always intended to blog about our travels, so pardon our delayed start (we live in Terrapin land here), enjoy the history, and stay tuned for updates as we move forward.
